DescriptionVagabond (VIZBIG Edition), Vol. 8 by Takehiko Inoue continues the journey of Miyamoto Musashi, one of the most iconic samurai figures in Japanese history. This volume brings readers deep into the heart of Musashi's relentless pursuit of enlightenment through the art of the sword. The VIZBIG edition provides an immersive reading experience with three volumes collected into one, enriched by bonus content, colour pages, storyboard samples, and more.
Miyamoto Musashi’s legend unfolds as he returns to Kyoto, the city where he previously faced off against the formidable Yoshioka School. One year has passed since his last attempt, and Kyoto is buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a thrilling rematch. Musashi's return sets off a chain of events, as he finds himself on a treacherous path where honour and survival clash on the battlefield.
The elder disciples of the Yoshioka School are astounded by the progress Musashi has made in his swordsmanship. Fearful of his unparalleled skills, they plot to vanquish him by any means necessary, even if it requires stooping to dishonourable tactics. The upcoming confrontation promises to test Musashi's resolve, skills, and philosophy, pushing him to the limits of his endurance.
Three volumes in one! This prestige compilation of Takehiko Inoue’s epic samurai series is a treasure trove for fans, offering not just the gripping story but also a wealth of bonus content that provides deeper insight into the creation of Vagabond. Readers can enjoy vibrant colour pages and storyboard samples that showcase Inoue’s masterful artistry and storytelling prowess.
Inspired by the real-life figure of Miyamoto Musashi, who wrote A Book of Five Rings, a seminal work in philosophy and military strategy, Vagabond delves into the internal and external battles faced by this legendary warrior-philosopher. Musashi’s journey is one of self-discovery and relentless pursuit of mastery, set against the backdrop of feudal Japan, where every encounter and duel bring him closer to his ultimate goal, yet farther from peace.
With its meticulously detailed artwork and profound exploration of themes such as honour, enlightenment, and survival, Vagabond (VIZBIG Edition), Vol. 8 offers a richly textured narrative that captures the essence of the samurai spirit. This volume is a must-have for aficionados of samurai lore, historical fiction, and exemplary manga storytelling.
