Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Amina: Through My Eyes tells the poignant story of a young girl living on the edges of Mogadishu. Despite their home being damaged by Somalia's long civil war, Amina's family remains steadfast, refusing to abandon what they have always known.

Amina's life is thrown into turmoil when government forces arrest her father. His art is deemed too political and thus is officially censored. The nightmare continues as rebel forces kidnap her brother, forcing him into the life of a soldier in Somalia's brutal ongoing war.

Though her mother and grandmother stay by her side, Amina feels vulnerable and abandoned. In secret, she begins to create her own artwork in the streets and derelict buildings, seeking a sense of hope and a way to unburden her aching heart.

Her art becomes a powerful voice within Mogadishu's underground world, echoing the hopes for a better, more secure future among the city's inhabitants.
