Squad Goals

From beloved creator Guy Kopsombut—aka 4amshower—comes a fast-paced, full-colour story about gaming, courage, and belonging. Squad Goals is a heartwarming, laugh-out-loud graphic novel all about middle school friendship, eSports, video games, and finding your people.

Ronin’s family just moved to a new town to open their dream Thai restaurant. But while his parents are serving up curry and pad see ew, Ronin’s trying to cook up a new life. And that includes the hardest recipe of all: new friends. When Ronin stumbles upon a mysterious “Support Needed” sign at the school club fair, he discovers a mismatched crew of gamers desperate for a support mage before their big eSports tournament.

The catch? Ronin’s never played before.

Between long shifts helping his family and late-night gaming sessions, Ronin must learn to level up fast—and before the team falls apart and their shot at victory disappears. Along the way, he finds friendship, confidence, and a whole lot of heart in unexpected places.

Bursting with humour, action, and warmth, Squad Goals is perfect for fans of Raina Telgemeier, Jerry Craft, and Kpop Demon Hunters—and anyone who’s ever felt like an underdog trying to find their squad.
