Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde & Other Stories
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde & Other Stories
An attractive, giftable repackage of the widely-read and regularly assigned 1886 classic by Robert Louis Stevenson: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, along with two other stories.
This spine-tingling volume collects some of Robert Louis Stevenson’s stories first published in the late 19th century for a new generation of young readers—featuring a freshly reimagined cover!
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde & Other Stories introduces us to Dr. Henry Jekyll, a respectable man, sociable and well-liked. However, his friends, Mr. Utterson and Mr. Enfield, become concerned when Dr. Jekyll appears linked to the ominous Edward Hyde. Mr. Hyde’s violent outbursts put their small community on edge, as despite his small stature, no one can deny he is terribly dangerous, self-indulgent, and even evil.
As Dr. Jekyll’s behaviour grows more erratic and Mr. Utterson draws ever closer to uncovering the elusive Mr. Hyde, the shocking truth of the relationship between the good doctor and the unholy terror unfolds—a chain of events set off by a repressed man surrendering completely to the worst of his vices and shame.
Also included in this collection are “The Body Snatcher,” a story about medical students haunted by the deeds committed to obtain cadavers, and “The Bottle Imp,” a tale of a man who purchases a cursed bottle, only to discover the dire consequences that come with wish fulfilment.
