Nothing but the Truth
Nothing but the Truth
Fans of J.A. Jance, Scott Turow, Lisa Unger, and Renee James will devour this propulsive and timely thriller about murder, prejudice, and police corruption, as Erin McCabe, transgender attorney of the Garden State, discovers that getting to the truth can be deadly
Nothing but the Truth follows Erin McCabe, a transgender attorney from the Garden State, as she discovers that pursuing the truth can be deadly.
New Jersey State Trooper Jon Mazer is accused of murdering Black investigative reporter Stewart Marshall in a racially charged, sensational case. Erin McCabe's new client faces overwhelming evidence: Mazer's off-duty weapon was the murder weapon, fingerprints and carpet fibres connect him to the crime, and he was patrolling Marshall's neighbourhood shortly before the victim was shot three times in the chest. Mazer claims he is a gay officer being framed for an even bigger story.
Mazer insists he was a secret source for Marshall's exposΓ© on the Lords of Discipline, a covert gang within the New Jersey State Police notorious for enforcing their own code of harassing women, framing minorities, and overpowering troopers who don't play along with their rogue and racist games. With the governor to the county prosecutor seemingly on the wrong side of justice, Erin and her partner, Duane Swisher, are determined to ensure Mazer doesn't become another victim.
As Erin deals with a personal issue at home and faces a challenging battle to prove her client's innocence, she and Duane find themselves tangled in a conspiracy of corruption deeper and more dangerous than they imagined.
