The Friendship Club explores the intertwining lives of these women, led by celebrity cooking show host Marni McGuire. Marni has seen it all—married twice, once widowed, and once divorced. Now in her midfifties, she is single and content. At least, that's what she keeps telling herself and her pregnant daughter, Bella. However, convincing both herself and Bella proves challenging, especially after a series of disastrous dates push Marni to reconsider if the right man for her might still be out there.

Similarly single, Marni’s best friend and colleague believes she’s content without a man. But when their young intern becomes ensnared in a toxic relationship, and Bella’s marriage shows signs of strain under the impending arrival of a baby, both older women find themselves re-evaluating their perspectives on love and relationships.

As these four women face the crossroads of dating, marriage, loneliness, and love, they realise the importance of leaning on each other.
