From Dana Mattioli, a veteran Amazon reporter for The Wall Street Journal, The Everything War is an incisive and shocking exposé of Amazon's insatiable strategic greed. The book meticulously unveils how Amazon has relentlessly pursued total domination by any means necessary, dismantling competition, and reshaping corporate power in its wake.

The Everything War immerses readers in the multifaceted and cutthroat strategies that Amazon has deployed to expand its empire. For more than twenty years, Amazon was heralded as an epitome of the American success story, captivating consumers worldwide with its customer-centric approach. However, behind this façade of benevolence, the company operated with ruthless efficiency to dominate over a dozen industries beyond retail.

Utilising data to its advantage, exploiting partners, copying competitors, and evading taxes, Amazon leveraged its colossal power to extract resources indiscriminately. The company's aggressive tactics ensured that it remained unchallenged at the summit of the corporate hierarchy - until now. With unparalleled access, Dana Mattioli traces this meteoric rise and unravels the intricate workings of Amazon’s empire, revealing its impact on small businesses, competitors, and the global marketplace.

Throughout the book, Mattioli draws on interviews with hundreds of individuals, including Amazon executives, competitors, and small business owners who depend on its marketplace. These firsthand accounts provide a comprehensive understanding of how Amazon's competitive drive bulldozed all in its path, reshaping the retail landscape and transforming the metrics by which Wall Street evaluates companies.

The Everything War delves into the 2023 landmark monopoly lawsuit filed by the Federal Trade Commission against Amazon. This antitrust case, one of the most significant of the 21st century, challenges Amazon's supremacy and questions the extent of its power. As Amazon faces this unprecedented legal battle, Mattioli’s narrative stands as the definitive insider’s account of the corporation's journey to becoming one of the most powerful and feared companies globally.

As Christopher Leonard, New York Times bestselling author of Kochland and The Lords of Easy Money, eloquently puts it, “Riveting and explosive. This is the business story of our time,” while the Financial Times describes it as “A hard-hitting analysis of Amazon's dominance. Makes a compelling case that no company should be this powerful.”

The Everything War is not just a book; it is a critical examination of corporate power and its implications for the future of the global economy. It is a must-read for anyone seeking to understand the intricate dynamics of one of the most influential companies of our era and the monumental consequences of its unyielding quest for dominance.
