Break Point by Ollie Ollerton is an unflinchingly honest memoir of courage, resilience, and personal redemption. Ollie Ollerton co-hosts the popular television series SAS: Who Dares Wins alongside Ant Middleton, Jason Fox, and Mark Billingham, but his real-life adventures far surpass what we've seen on screen. This gripping narrative takes you behind the scenes of Ollie’s life, beginning with his trials during the gruelling SAS selection process. Imagine pushing through with a busted ankle, each step a testament to his unyielding determination. But this is just the start. The book journeys through Ollie’s high-stakes missions, including defending journalists under heavy fire while en route to Baghdad. These accounts reveal the perilous nature of his assignments and the razor-thin line between life and death. As you delve deeper, you see the extraordinary measures he takes to protect and serve, even when captured by armed kidnappers. However, Ollie’s story isn’t confined to battlefields and covert operations. His account extends to the harrowing personal battles he has faced. He openly discusses hitting his lowest point at the bottom of a bottle, struggling to piece his family back together, and battling to reintegrate into civilian life, all while yearning for the structured chaos of a warzone. Break Point candidly explores Ollie’s encounters with hardened criminals, nerve-wracking high-speed car chases, and his involvement in counter-terrorism. It also highlights his humanitarian efforts, such as the heroic mission to free children from a trafficking ring in Thailand, painting a picture of a man committed to making a difference in the world. The memoir doesn’t shy away from Ollie’s personal tribulations. Surviving a freak childhood attack left deep scars. His teenage years were marred by conflicts with the law, exacerbated by a broken home. These struggles led to fierce battles with alcohol and drug addiction, and ongoing challenges with anxiety and depression. Yet, amidst the chaos, Ollie found redemption. As an entrepreneur and mental health charity ambassador, Ollie Ollerton's journey of overcoming adversity builds towards an inspiring new beginning. He demonstrates that everyone has the capacity for incredible achievement. It is during life’s most challenging moments—when you are down to your last bullet, at your break point—that your true character emerges. Break Point is a riveting tale of a man who has continually faced and conquered his break points, offering readers invaluable lessons of resilience and the power of the human spirit.
