From the esteemed best-selling author of Aroha and Wawata comes Waitohu, an innovative and inspiring journal that helps readers forge deeper connections through the energies of Hina, the Māori moon goddess, and the profound power of aroha (love). This journal is not just a tool for writing; it is a transformational journey guided by the wisdom of the Māori lunar calendar.

Kia ora! Welcome to Waitohu, a unique journal where the Māori lunar calendar invites us to engage in reflective writing about our lives in fresh and meaningful ways. Each entry is influenced by the whakataukī (proverb) "ka mua, ka muri" which translates to "walking backwards into the future". This concept encourages us to understand that our past experiences shape our future aspirations.

Each month, you will revisit the beginning of the journal, rediscovering previous thoughts and reflections under the enlightening phases of the moon. This cyclical process allows for the layering of new ideas upon earlier insights, ultimately uncovering deeper truths and fostering continuous personal growth. The journal serves as a sanctuary, a sacred space where you can pen down future visions while drawing wisdom from the past.

Waitohu is especially needed in today's complex world, offering a steadying presence amidst tumultuous times. It acts as a trusted companion, guiding you through life's turbulent waters. With its structured yet flexible format, the journal is designed to help you capture life's lessons, reflect on your journey, and manifest your dreams.

Responding to the many requests from her readers for a dedicated journal to accompany Aroha and Wawata, Dr Hinemoa Elder has created Waitohu to provide a holistic approach to self-reflection. This journal not only continues the teachings from her previous works but also deepens the exploration of personal and collective growth.

Immerse yourself in this enriching writing journey with Waitohu and let the guiding light of Hina and the enduring spirit of aroha illuminate your path.
