Battle Born follows Damien Hunter, a veteran forged in the relentless crucible of combat operations. Formerly an Air Force special forces operator turned contractor, Damien is now employed by the enigmatic Taipan Organisation. Together with Warwick ‘Wuz’ Davis and Paul ‘Stayer’ MacLean, he leads the elite three-man team, Taipan One Six. This team is known for taking on missions that others would shun.

Contracted for a high-risk mission in Afghanistan's perilous Chora Valley, Taipan One Six is tasked with supporting a Dutch operation against the implacable warlord Abd al-Malik. However, Abd al-Malik, aided by Rainer Toussaint—a deranged ex-French Legionnaire who finds pleasure in chaos and carnage—launches a devastating ambush on the operators. In this harsh terrain, another military mission is poised to meet a grim end.

Damien, weary and scarred from years of warfare, shoulders the responsibility of safeguarding the Dutch operators. Overwhelmingly outnumbered, the Dutch forces battle fiercely for their lives. With their extraction strategy thwarted, Damien and his team are compelled to unite with the beleaguered Dutch operators. Together, they face off against Rainer and his Afghan fighters in a ruthless and unforgiving struggle for survival.
