The Book of Gifts by Lucy Claire Dunbar is a heartwarming debut blending the charm of James Norbury with Raymond Briggs' The Snowman, and a touch of the romance found in Love, Actually. It's the first book from a vibrant new Instagram artist who has already captured the hearts of many.

For Lucy, hope is a silent companion that resides in family, friendships, and even the simple beauty of changing seasons. Her art is a canvas that seeks to encapsulate this magic through every line and brushstroke.

Her work illustrates the kindness of strangers, commemorates loss, and offers reflections on the passage of time and the emergence of new opportunities with each passing year. The book combines exquisite hand-drawn illustrations with touching words that resonate deeply within the soul.

In this captivating first book, Lucy curates a selection of her most beloved artwork, beautifully framing it within a series of intertwined short stories. The result is an irresistible and timeless gift, perfect for a friend, family member, partner, or even yourself.

About the Author

Lucy Dunbar is an illustrator and designer based in Oxfordshire who came to prominence by honouring the likes of The Queen and Matthew Perry with art drawn from behind, always leaving the story open for her viewers to interpret for themselves. Having been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes from the age of two, Lucy temporarily lost her sight in her early twenties. After she'd regained it, she made a promise to herself to draw every day. From that commitment, came her hugely popular online success. She now has an established and fast-growing social media following with 559k followers on Instagram and has appeared on Radio 4's Saturday Live and Lorraine Kelly. This is her first book.
