I didn't want Noxxy to stay as a ghost forever! Her spirit needed to pass over peacefully, so we had to have a nine night for Noxxy.
Noxxy was the best cat Janae could ask for. She was playful, caring, and had the softest fur ever!
When Noxxy passes away, Janae doesn't know how to be without her, and nothing will make her feel better.
However, after a big, warm hug from Granny and a story about a traditional Jamaican nine night to remember the deceased and help their spirits move on, an idea starts to form...

About the Author
Mercedes Deacon (Author) Mercedes Deacon is an author and editor who loves pulling from her black British Caribbean heritage in stories. Born and bred south Londoner, she enjoys blogging, making shea butter and basking in the sun with her cheeky cat, Luna. Sayada Ramdial (Illustrator) Sayada Ramdial is a freelance illustrator from Trinidad & Tobago, now living and working in the Pacific Northwest. Her passion for art started early, and was given direction when she attended the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she majored in Illustration and minored in Drawing. Sayada mainly works digitally, but is also well versed in watercolour, ink, coloured pencil, pencil, and acrylic painting, when the situation calls for traditional media. One of Sayada's favourite things to draw (and to make) is food! When she's not experimenting at the drawing board or in the kitchen, she enjoys exploring nature and meeting friendly, furry pets.
