About the Author

Melissa Greenwood was born on her Gumbaynggirr jagun (Country) in Coffs Harbour and raised between Gumbaynggirr and Bundjalung Nations, both her ancestral homelands. On Melissa's matriarchal side, she is Gumbaynggirr, Bundjalung and Dunghutti. Melissa has a BA degree, majoring in Critical Criminology, and worked in Aboriginal affairs for over 11 years. Melissa is the founder and director of Miimi & Jiinda, an Australian art and design brand. Melissa now has a high-fashion women's label, which tells visual stories of Country through her hand-painted designs. Melissa is a passionate writer who weaves the intricacies of her Aboriginal spiritual upbringing with the wisdom passed down to her from her Elders.
