Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

A story of breaking free from the confines of your past, love across divides, second chances and healing, this is a powerful tale of female resilience. β€” MRS B's BOOK REVIEWS

Once upon a time, Natasha believed in love. At nineteen, her heart was captivated by a man who promised her the world, only to vanish, leaving her to carry the weight of shattered dreamsβ€”and the child she never expected.

A decade later, Natasha is focused on providing love and stability for her daughter, determined to break the cycle of poverty and trauma that haunted her own childhood. As they ease into the peaceful rhythms of Settlers Bridge, Natasha is drawn to the local mechanic, Hamish, whose quiet strength stirs feelings she hadn't thought she would ever experience again. Yet, despite this connection, Natasha can't shake the belief that moving on from her first love is impossible.

When her history and future abruptly collide, dividing the town that seems to provide sanctuary, Natasha must decide if she has the courage to take the path that offers love ... or whether the echoes of her past will destroy everything she has built.

LΓ©onie Kelsall is not afraid to tackle some of the darker sides of human nature in a way that adds depth and emotion to the storyline. Always at pains to show the tenacity, resilience and community strength of rural communities, Kelsall continues to produce insightful work. β€” LIVING ARTS CANBERRA on Wings Above the Mallee

About the Author

Raised initially in a tiny, no-horse town on South Australia's Fleurieu coast, then in the slightly more populated wheat and sheep farming land at Pallamana, Leonie is a country girl through and through. Growing up without a television, she developed a love of reading before she reached primary school, swiftly followed by a desire to write. Pity the poor teachers who received chapters of creative writing instead of a single page!

Leonie entertained a brief fantasy of moving to the big city (well, Adelaide), but within months the lure of the open spaces and big sky country summoned her home. An animal rescuer and carer, she now divides her time between the lush Adelaide Hills, the location of her professional counselling practice, and the stark, arid beauty of the family farm at Pallamana, which provides both the setting for many of her stories and a refuge for the rescues that can't be released. Follow her social media for an overload of the fluffy, fleecy, furred and feathered inhabitants of her home and heart.

Leonie is the bestselling author of The Farm at Peppertree Crossing, The Wattle Seed Inn, The River Gum Cottage, The Willow Tree Wharf, The Blue Gum Camp, The Homestead in the Eucalypts and Wings Above the Mallee.
