Sunday Times No 1 bestseller John Grisham returns to Mississippi in his most gripping thriller yet.

Welcome to the world of The Boys from Biloxi, where the serene facade of beachside charm and the booming seafood industry hide an underworld riddled with corruption and vice. Biloxi's darker side is ruled by illicit activities: gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, drugs, and even contract killings, all controlled by a shadowy syndicate rumoured to be members of the Dixie Mafia.

In the 1960s, two young men, Keith Rudy and Hugh Malco, grow up as friends in this complex milieu. Their paths diverge dramatically as they move into adulthood. Keith, following the noble footsteps of his father, becomes an esteemed prosecutor determined to eradicate the town's entrenched corruption. On the other hand, Hugh embraces the allure of the nightlife, working in his father's notorious clubs and further embedding himself in the criminal underworld.

The tension between the two families escalates, culminating in an epic legal showdown. With the courtroom as their battlefield, both families vie for control, justice, and survival. The Boys from Biloxi offers a sweeping narrative enriched with historical nuances and a large ensemble of memorable characters. It’s a saga that delves into the lives of two sons from immigrant families who start as friends but end as adversaries, embroiled in a life-or-death confrontation.

In this novel, Grisham elevates his powerful storytelling, delivering trademark twists and turns that will keep you engrossed until the very last page. His exceptional ability to craft a riveting story is on full display, ensuring readers are hooked from start to finish.

'As ever with Grisham, there are corkscrew twists and turns as he ratchets up the suspense. It is exceptional storytelling, which leaves the reader begging for the novel never to end. Grisham has sold more than 300 million copies of his work. This shows exactly why' DAILY MAIL

'It's a story that spans half a century and ends inevitably in a courtroom showdown. A morally complex, compelling and illuminating read' MAIL ON SUNDAY

'[The novel] invites comparisons with the Godfather trilogy - it spans two generations and several post-war decades - and has a vast cast and a winning energy' SUNDAY TIMES

With over 350 million copies sold in 45 languages, and 10 blockbuster films:

About the Author

Beginning with The Firm in 1991, John Grisham has published at least one #1 bestseller every year. His books have been translated into 45 languages and have sold over 350 million copies worldwide. Ten have been adapted to film, including The Firm, The Pelican Brief, and A Time To Kill. His Theodore Boone series for young readers is now in development at Netflix. An avid sports fan, he has written two novels about football, one about baseball, and in 2021 he published Sooley, a story set in the world of college basketball. His lone work of non-fiction, The Innocent Man, was adapted into a six-part Netflix docuseries. He is the two-time winner of the Harper Lee Prize For Legal Fiction and was distinguished with the Library of Congress Creative Achievement Award For Fiction. When he's not writing, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Innocence Project and Centurion Ministries, two national organizations dedicated to exonerating those who have been wrongfully convicted. Much of his recent fiction explores deep-seated problems in our criminal justice systems. A graduate of Mississippi State University and Ole Miss Law School, he lives on a farm in central Virginia, around the corner from the youth baseball complex he built in 1996. He still serves as its Commissioner.
