An explosive new novel about the friendship and courage of a group of young boys living through the Second World War, from award-winning author Jenny Pearson.

Shrapnel Boys tells the tale of Ronnie Smith, who finds himself in a city as the war descends upon London in 1939. Emotionally caught between fear and excitement, Ronnie is scared of the bombs that fall at night but is also eager to race his friends to collect the best bits of shrapnel every morning.

Yet the battles Ronnie faces are not confined to the skies and streets. At school and at home, he is met with challenges. His little brother is embroiled in a secret job with dangerous new friends, and Ronnie fears he's headed for significant trouble. Desperate to assist his brother, Ronnie stumbles upon secrets that could alter the fate of the entire war...
