Resolution
From the pen of the master storyteller and #1 Sunday Times bestseller, Irvine Welsh, comes a new instalment in the unmissable CRIME series featuring the indomitable former detective, Ray Lennox.
In Resolution, Ray Lennox is determined to move on from his darkest days. The maverick former detective has left the murky past of Edinburgh behind for a fresh start in the vibrant coastal city of Brighton. Gone are the dangerous fixations and harmful addictions that once plagued him, replaced now with quiet evenings, a rigorous fitness regime, and a semblance of tranquillity.
Enter Mathew Cardingworth: rich, smooth-talking, and immaculately dressed, he is the epitome of a successful property developer. Or so it seems. Their seemingly innocuous meeting triggers a landslide of suppressed memories for Lennox, dredging up shadows of a past he thought buried. As confusion and rage threaten to consume him, Lennox must wrestle with his demons.
Driven by a need to confront the haunting spectres of his childhood, Lennox begins to uncover the sinister connections between Cardingworth, the chilling disappearance of a group of foster care boys, and the relentless violence that marred his early years. As the pieces of a dark and complex puzzle fall into place, Lennox finds himself grappling with an overwhelming question:
What will he sacrifice to achieve resolution at last?
Resolution is a gripping, heart-stopping tale of redemption, violence, and the search for truth. Welsh expertly crafts a labyrinthine plot, blending intense psychological drama with gritty, realistic crime fiction that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very last page. Dive into this electrifying novel and join Ray Lennox on his harrowing yet captivating journey to uncover old truths and face new consequences.
