No matter who you are or where you're from, with enough aspiration, courage and training, you could become a Blade Forger, win the tournament, and be the new Emperor.

The discovery of CORUM, a never-before-seen energy source, led to a bloody world war for its control. After years of destruction, the Lords of the Lands agreed to negotiate a ceasefire for lasting peace. The BLADE FORGERS TREATY was born from that meeting.

This treaty established that the mining of Corum would be centralised through one government, led by a neutral Emperor. The Emperor would have to be a BLADE FORGER, a mystical swordsman, and claim the title in a tournament called The Tournament of the Five Rings. Every five years, Blade Forgers from every corner of the Empire would fight for the possibility of becoming the new Emperor.

A young Blade Forger named Owada challenges the Emperor in the name of the forsaken people. This is the story of what happens next.

About the Author

Inaki Miranda earned a degree in fine arts and established a place for himself in the comics industry, collaborating with DC Comics for more than a decade on such titles as Coffin Hill, Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Batman Beyond. In 2024 he received an Eisner nomination as Best Artist for his work in Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons, which was also nominated as Best Miniseries. In 2020, Inaki and his brother Roy joined their creative minds and published the Eisner-nominated hit WE LIVE. Different life paths that met in the territory of ideas and narration. The Brothers watched the same films, played the same video games, read the same comics and shared the same Star Wars and He-Man figures. Their imaginative impulses led them to create stories together… as if they were returning to that messy bedroom they shared as children.

Roy Miranda hails from both the music industry and the stage. He supplements his long carreer as a Hip Hop singer--in bands such as LEFlaco, Roy Mercurio, Dremen, La Zurda--with his job as a Creative Director. In 2020, Roy and his brother Inaki joined their creative minds and published the Eisner nominated hit WE LIVE. Different life paths that met in the territory of ideas and narration. The Brothers watched the same films, played the same video games, read the same comics and shared the same Star Wars and He-Man figures. Their imaginative impulses led them to create stories together… as if they were returning to that messy bedroom they shared as children.

Eva de la Cruz is a comic book colorist born in Madrid, Spain. Her love for art led her to graduate from Complutense University with a degree in Fine Arts. From there, she embarked on a journey into the captivating world of animation and video games. In 2003, Eva had the honor of working on a Judge Dredd story for 2000AD magazine, a true milestone that propelled her down her professional path. Since then, she's had myriad incredible opportunities to collaborate with comic publishers such as DC/Vertigo, IDW, AfterShock, Dark Horse, Mad Cave Studios and Scholastic, among others. Each project has challenged her and served as a canvas to showcase her versatility and passion in every endeavour she takes on. Though Eva's colors have led her to explore imaginary worlds and enjoy unforgettable characters, her home and the endless source of inspiration lie in a charming and picturesque village in Spain where she lives with her partner and her adorable cats.

Dave Sharpe is an artist and currently a letterer for various featured comic publishing companies within the industry. He graduated from the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, Inc. in 1990, and immediately went to work at Marvel. As of 2009, Dave has been lettering for DC Comics on a number of titles currently: Green Lantern, Green Lantern War Journal, and ACTION COMICS! Dave also letters LOTS of other books and titles for various publishers. Dave plays bass guitar and is way more approachable than he looks.
