Dr Monty Soutar (NgΔti Porou, NgΔti Awa, NgaiΒ Tai ki TΔmaki, NgΔti Kahungunu) has workedΒ as a Senior Historian for the Ministry of CultureΒ and Heritage, as Director of the TairΔwhitiΒ Museum in Gisborne and as the World WarΒ One Historian in Residence at Auckland WarΒ Memorial Museum. In 2015, he was awardedΒ the New Zealand Order of Merit for services toΒ MΔori and historical research. He continues toΒ serve on the Waitangi Tribunal.
Dr Soutar is the author of Whitiki Whiti WhitiΒ E!
