This weekend, our little Hobsonville bookshop was filled with laughter as we welcomed two very special visitors... Bluey and Bingo!
The sold-out meet and greet was held to celebrate the launch of the brand new Bluey Tonies, with hundreds of families joining us to meet their favourite characters, share a cuddle and create memories together.
From the moment families walked through the door, we wanted it to feel like stepping into an episode of Bluey. An epic Tonies balloon arch framed the Bluey neighbourhood backdrop, while a custom kiwifruit rug, just like the one in Bluey and Bingo's playroom, became the spot where children stood to hold hands with their heroes for a photo.
While they waited, there was plenty to explore. Families coloured in activity sheets, read books together, played with toys and, of course, discovered the new Toniebox 2 and Bluey Tonie. It was so heartwarming to see children gathered around listening to stories, turning pages and letting their imaginations take over.
As a thank you for coming, every child also took home a little Bluey book and Bluey stickers to remember the day.
As an independent bookshop, these are the moments we love creating. We want Book Hero to be a place where children get excited about books, stories and using their imaginations. Whether that's through reading together, meeting beloved characters or discovering storytelling through a Toniebox, it's all about helping families make joyful memories around stories.
We're also incredibly proud to have partnered with Tonies to bring this event to life. Seeing so many children fall in love with the Bluey Tonies and Toniebox 2 made the day even more special, and we're so grateful for their support in creating such a magical experience.
To every family who came along, thank you for spending part of your weekend with us. Seeing your excitement, hearing the laughter and watching so many little Bluey fans light up reminded us exactly why we love doing what we do.
