Our Rolife Build Nights Are Back!

With all these new arrivals on the way, I've been thinking about the last time my family and I sat down for a Rolife building session. We took the chance during the long weekend to have a build day and it was so much fun!

If you missed it, a few months ago Rolife kits completely took over our Friday nights as we worked our way through all our favourites. It had been a little while since we'd built one, so we decided to make up for lost time by tackling two in a single day.

Was it ambitious? A little bit.

Did we have heaps of fun? Absolutely.

Did I accidentally make things harder by misreading the instructions? As I told the official part finders, it was completely intentional.

The first build was meant to be a quick one. Despite being one of the miniature kits, it still took us longer than expected. We started with the Rolife Magic Astronomy Shop DIY Miniature Puzzle, slipping straight back into our usual roles: me as chief instruction reader and sticker applicator, Siobhan as the builder, and Mum and Dad as our expert part finders. It was so fun see how all the little pieces we made came together in the end. It felt like the perfect introductory kit (if we hadn’t built so many before it) and it was surprising how many pieces fit together to make the cutest addition to our dad’s bookshelf.

The second one we decided to tackle was the Rolife Sunshine Town Book Nook DIY Miniature Puzzle. This one was probably the most interesting kit we've done so far. It's a beautiful book nook with a built-in mirror that adds a really cool sense of depth. One of my favourite things about the Rolife kits we've built is that every one has been different in some way. Instead of tape dots and adhesive strips, this one came with glue and even a tiny pot of paint to colour certain edges white and give the finished build an even more polished look.

Dad took a turn as the builder for this one, and there were definitely a few moments where we questioned whether he was enjoying his decision as he glued piece after piece together. It was fun, a little challenging, and a great reminder that one of the best parts about building these kits isn't just the finished result—it's all the laughs and conversations you have while you're making them.

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, take a look at our in-stock range while we wait for all the exciting new goodies to arrive!
