Murder By Natural Causes
Murder By Natural Causes
A double life with a single purpose getting away with murder.
Introducing a fiercely talented new crime writer with a richly propulsive and witty thriller featuring a female assassin. For fans of Bella Mackie’s How to Kill Your Family and the tv shows Killing Eve and The Queen’s Gambit. A double life with a single purpose – getting away with murder.
Murder By Natural Causes introduces Cilla, a 22-year-old contract killer with a unique speciality: executing murders that appear as deaths by natural causes. Her main client, Vladimir Haugr, owns TGR’s bridge club in London. In exchange for her services, Cilla receives a flat, a retainer, and expenses, completing five assignments annually. Occasionally, she takes on freelance work.
Cilla defies the stereotype of the typical female protagonist. Neither strong nor beautiful, her unremarkable appearance renders her almost invisible, an asset in her line of work. Her survival rests on her cleverness, stubbornness, and luck. However, she understands that statistically, her luck is bound to run out. Reinventing herself becomes imperative, and soon.
She is aware of her value to Vladimir Haugr, who will not readily release her. The central question becomes whether Cilla can transform her life, and if so, what price she will pay to achieve her new identity.
