DescriptionDiscover the magic and humour of one of the most beloved comic series in history with the Asterix: Asterix Gift Edition: Albums 1–5 by René Goscinny. This collector's edition combines the first five adventures of Asterix the Gaul into one luxurious volume, perfect for long-time fans and newcomers alike.
In ASTERIX THE GAUL, meet Asterix, the cunning and courageous warrior, and his best friend, the brawny Obelix. Together, they defend their small village in Gaul from the seemingly unstoppable Roman legions. Wrapped in humour and wit, this tale introduces readers to the indomitable spirit of the Gauls and their clever strategies to outwit the Roman invaders.
In ASTERIX AND THE GOLDEN SICKLE, disaster threatens as Getafix, the village druid, breaks his precious golden sickle, essential for creating the magic potion that gives the Gauls their superhuman strength. Asterix and Obelix embark on a perilous journey to Lutetia (modern-day Paris) to obtain a new sickle, facing treacherous bandits and shady merchants along the way.
ASTERIX AND THE GOTHS sees the brave heroes racing against time to rescue Getafix, who has been kidnapped by the menacing Goths. This thrilling adventure takes Asterix and Obelix beyond their village borders into enemy lands, where they confront the Goths' devious plans and fight to bring their druid back home safely.
In ASTERIX THE GLADIATOR, the narrative takes a dramatic turn as the bumbling bard, Cacofonix, is captured by Roman soldiers and sent to Caesar's circus to be thrown to the lions. Determined to save their friend, Asterix and Obelix enlist as gladiators. Their antics and ingenuity not only secure Cacofonix’s freedom but also introduce new ideas to their fellow gladiators and even baffle Caesar himself.
ASTERIX AND THE BANQUET challenges our heroes to a culinary journey across Gaul. With the Romans building a barricade around their village, Asterix and Obelix break through and travel the country to prove their invincibility by collecting regional delicacies for a grand banquet. This journey showcases the rich culture of ancient Gaul and the duo’s resourcefulness in overcoming every obstacle even in occupied territories.
This special edition is a must-have for fans of Asterix, offering a beautifully bound collection that celebrates the genius of René Goscinny and the enchanting illustrations of Albert Uderzo. Relive these classic stories filled with clever humour, historical satire, and adventurous spirit that have captivated generations of readers worldwide.
