Funny, charming and captivating, with a plot within a plot, and a girl who is looking for love in all the wrong places.
A beautiful novel about chasing your dreams and finding love in the most unexpected places. — Rachael Johns, author of The Other Bridget
A warm and very funny read. — Who, 4 stars
Vanessa Rooney is a thirty-something single mum with a hole in her heart where her husband had been.
Somehow she finds the courage to fulfil her childhood dream of writing a romance novel, but after a rejection from the publisher, she's devastated to discover that her novel has been plagiarised by a celebrity author.
Vanessa decides to sue, and with a legal team comprising suburban solicitor Dave Rendall, who's nursing some unfulfilled dreams of his own, and gun KC Marcus Stafford, who is Vanessa's idea of her perfect man, all hell breaks loose publicly and privately.
Confronting a painful past, Vanessa finally understands that what she wanted wasn't what she needed, but has this realisation come too late?
