Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann unfolds a gripping narrative set in the 1920s, revealing a chilling and forgotten chapter in American history. The book delves into the lives of the Osage Indian Nation in Oklahoma, who were once the richest people per capita in the world due to the discovery of oil beneath their land. Their newfound wealth brought luxury and prosperity, but also a sinister wave of greed and violence.

As the Osage enjoyed their prosperity, they became the targets of a series of brutal murders. One by one, the Osage people began to be mysteriously killed off. The mounting death toll drew the attention of the newly formed Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). However, the Bureau's initial attempts to solve the murders were fraught with incompetence and failure. In a desperate effort to uncover the truth, the young and ambitious director, J. Edgar Hoover, enlisted the help of former Texas Ranger Tom White.

Tom White, along with an undercover team and the Osage themselves, embarked on a complex investigation. Their quest for justice unveiled a shocking conspiracy that reached deep into American society, exposing systemic corruption and racial injustice. The investigation marked one of the FBI’s first major homicide cases, highlighting the lengths to which men would go for power and wealth.
