After returning to Earth following three remarkable spaceflights, Colonel Chris Hadfield shares his captivating memoir An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth. With almost 4,000 hours spent in space, Hadfield reveals not only extraordinary stories from his life as an astronaut but also invaluable lessons on making the impossible a reality, all with a fresh afterword exclusive to this edition.

Through detailed accounts, Hadfield chronicles his vigorous training at NASA and his experiences in the vast expanse of space. These tales include breaking into a Space Station with a Swiss army knife, navigating a plane while dealing with a live snake, and being temporarily blinded while gripping the exterior of an orbiting spacecraft. He even became a global sensation with his poignant rendition of David Bowie's 'Space Oddity' recorded aboard the International Space Station.

The key to Hadfield's success lies in his unconventional philosophy: prepare for the worst and enjoy every moment. In An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth, Hadfield takes readers through the adrenaline of launch sequences, the awe-inspiring beauty of spacewalks, and the composed, strategic responses required during crises. Through these eye-opening tales filled with excitement and practical wisdom, he illustrates how conventional wisdom can often be a hindrance to achieving one's goals - and finding happiness.

Hadfield's insights, derived from his extraordinary education and experiences in space, challenge common beliefs: don't always visualise success, do consider what others think, and always sweat the small stuff. While you may not build robots, pilot spacecraft, create viral music videos, or perform surgeries in zero gravity like Hadfield, his refreshing perspective will teach you to think like an astronaut. The lessons in this book will transform how you view life on Earth, particularly your own.

Hadfield's vivid storytelling and practical advice make An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth an inspiring read that shows how anyone can achieve the extraordinary by thinking differently and preparing meticulously. Embrace a new way of life, where you adopt an astronaut's perspective, seize possibilities previously thought out of reach, and find joy in every moment.
