The Bloodfire Oath

The Bloodfire Oath by Chloe C. Peñaranda explores the tantalising power of magic and the personal toll it demands beyond just blood—it requires one's very soul.

Under the oppressive rule of the Arcanum Order, magic is a privilege reserved for the elite. Scythe Valethorne refuses to accept mere survival. By day, she endures life in the city's impoverished districts; by night, she becomes an assassin to support her family.

When a mission takes a perilous turn, Scythe gambles everything for a chance to infiltrate the Arcana's stronghold—the Guild. Her daring move captures the attention of Asher Kyrell, the Guild's most enigmatic leader, who chooses her as his apprentice. Drawn into a dangerous game of power and deceit, Scythe finds herself ensnared by Asher's allure. His piercing red gaze and electrifying touch challenge her resolve, and every lesson brings her closer to the flames of his enigmatic allure.

Yet, Asher harbours deadly secrets, and the sparks her heart feels for him threaten to consume her mission—and them both. A single stolen glance could shatter her carefully laid plans, and a forbidden kiss could lead to their ruin.

Amidst peril and passion, Scythe uncovers far more within the Guild's walls than she anticipated—about herself, her fellow initiates, and the sinister cracks beneath the perfect façade of the Arcanum Order. She faces a pivotal choice: endure the regime's tyranny or rise to challenge it. What if magic is not merely acquired but lies dormant, ready to rise once more?
