Cindy and Blossom never expected their quiet routines at Higgin's Hotel to collide with a criminal investigation. Cindy, a real estate agent, and Blossom, a housekeeper, lead very different lives - until hotel owner Jack Higgins is indicted for racketeering. With his wife wintering in Florida, Higgins unexpectedly promotes Blossom, placing her in the crosshairs of gossip and suspicion. The FBI's arrival in the coal fields of West Virginia stirs resentment and fear, especially after an explosive device is planted at a local bank. About the Author

Carla Coffman lives in Central West Virginia and works with her brothers as insurance agents. Her career started as a file clerk at the national Geographic in Washington, DC. She joined the Coast Guard Reserves and worked at a brokerage firm on Wall Street beforemoving back to her old hometown.Through every chapter of her life, writing and painting have remained her spiritual grounding - creative refuges that helped her navigate a world marked by upheaval, including the AIDS and COVID-19 epidemics. Her novel Higgins Hotel reflects the unpredictable, often bittersweet pursuit of success, inspired by her experiences during the 1978 real estate market crash.
