DescriptionWhen Mia Parkson's stay-at-home dad goes missing, her world is thrown into chaos. The only potential clue lies with her nonverbal teenage brother, Eugene, who cannot communicate what he might have seen. As the police struggle to find leads, and her mother and twin brother grapple to hold the family together, Mia dives headfirst into the mystery.
Driven by her analytical mind and determination, Mia gains access to critical clues about her father's disappearance. As she unravels the mystery, she discovers secrets that challenge her perceptions and force her to confront uncomfortable truths. The story unfolds with gripping tension, raising the stakes as Mia's impulsive actions begin to endanger her family's safety.
Angie Kim masterfully weaves a narrative that is both suspenseful and intimate, exploring themes of communication, the bonds of family, and the lengths one will go to for those they love. The characters are richly drawn, each dealing with their own struggles while providing a profound portrait of humanity.
