Japanese for Busy People - Kana Workbook for the Revised 4th Edition is part of the 4th Revised Edition of the Japanese for Busy People series, the most popular Japanese language textbook series in the world.
Since its first publication in 1984, the focus of the Japanese for Busy People series has been on teaching Japanese for effective communication.
The Kana Workbook caters to students looking to master the two basic Japanese scripts: hiragana and katakana, essential for reading Japanese.
Not only does it teach the reading and writing of kana (as these scripts are collectively called), but it also covers listening and pronunciation, supported by audio recordings available for free download from kodansha.us.
Practice sections for individual kana include reference lines to assist learners in grasping the proper size and shape of each character, along with the stroke order, correct angles, and spaces between strokes. This helps learners master even the most confusingly similar-looking characters.

The Association for Japanese-Language Teaching (AJALT) was recognized as a nonprofit organization by the Japanese Ministry of Education in 1977. It was established to meet the practical needs of people who are not necessarily specialists on Japan but who wish to communicate effectively in Japanese. In 1992, AJALT was awarded the Japan Foundation Special Prize; and in 2010, it became a public interest incorporated association.
