Exile by Aimée Walsh explores the tumultuous life of Fiadh, whose world is turned completely upside down during a night out in Belfast. Soon, everyone knows what happened; rumours spread, and gossip spirals out of control.

Just as Fiadh was beginning to find her feet—feeling positive about her move to Liverpool, managing her university work, and making new friends—her life slips into a chaotic freefall. Feeling helpless, she starts missing assignment deadlines, stops attending classes, and isolates herself from friends, neglecting to reply to any messages.

As her nights become dominated by random hook-ups and fuelled by alcohol and drugs, the absence of her close-knit group of friends from home, along with the lack of support from her new friends in Liverpool, leads her life into a downward spiral—a chaos that nearly costs her everything.
