Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Through a series of exquisitely observed autobiographical sketches, Adrian Tomine explores his life in comics—from an early moment on the playground being bullied, to a more recent experience, lying on a gurney in the hospital, and having the nurse say, "Hey! You're that cartoonist!" It’s self-deprecating, honest, and above all else, humorous.

As he mines his conflicted relationship with comics and comics culture, and people at large, he once again animates the absurdities of modern life and how we choose to live it.

The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Cartoonist offers a poignant and witty exploration of identity, self-worth, and human connection through the unique lens of a celebrated cartoonist.
