Worth Fighting for

The Your Rights at Work campaign was an unprecedented event in Australia's political history, garnering immense public interest. This book, Worth Fighting For, offers an in-depth account of the campaign, drawing on over 60 interviews with key union leaders, rank and file members, and non-union community supporters.

The narrative is based on 18 months of close study, including six months that the author spent on the campaign trail. More than 5000 Australians were actively involved in the YRaW campaign, alongside every union in Australia and activists in 24 marginal seats across every state.

Published on the first anniversary of the 2007 federal election, when the Rudd government came to power, this book is widely recognised as documenting a campaign that influenced that electoral outcome. It stands as the only book currently available that details the YRaW campaign.

Worth Fighting For recounts the story of the ACTU's Your Rights at Work campaign against Work Choices, which was the largest, most expensive, and most sophisticated political campaign ever mounted in Australia, decisively impacting the 2007 federal election.
