About the Author

A former occupational therapist, she is passionate about writing inclusive picture books that capture the joy of childhood through imaginative and nature-based play. Her bestselling books The Day You Were Born (with Hilary Jean Tapper) and This Is My Happy Place (with Jen Khatun) followed her acclaimed debut, Wonderful Shoes (with Tania McCartney), which is a CBCA Notable Book and features on Play School Story Time. An in-demand speaker and story-time presenter at schools, libraries, bookshops and literature festivals, Emma is happiest filling her life with family, friends, nature, travel and, of course, books! Visit her at www.emmabowd.com Leila Rudge is an illustrator and author of over 15 picture books, including Gary and Winston and the Indoor Cat, which were both shortlisted in the CBCA Awards. Her work is a mixture of pencil -- so many coloured pencils -- and watercolours, all hand-rendered onto big sheets of paper ready to be scanned into picture book pages. She has two tiny people who love books almost as much as she does! Leila lives and works on Bundjalung Country (Bangalow, NSW) in Australia.
