About the Author

Kenneth Ian McQuarrie, known as The Orphan Carpenter, seeks to encourage Christ-focused believers through online devotionals and resources. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Kenneth faced serious medical complications and was placed in foster care as an infant. He was later adopted by a Christian family who provided stability and faith, and was mentored by his grandfather, a carpenter, which inspired his respect for craftsmanship. Although he dreamed of becoming a carpenter, his career led him into North Americaโ€™s construction industry, where he now leads preconstruction efforts for major projects in Southern California. His 2022 memoir, The Orphan Carpenter, presents parable-like stories that highlight Godโ€™s intervention and purpose, reflecting a life marked by resilience, faith, and determination. Despite personal trials and professional achievements, Kenneth remains committed to his small-town values, serving his church and community, and enjoying life in Orange County with his wife, Celine.
