Lyra Hunt is Extremely Unremarkable.

Because she's the only Unremarkable born in centuries, no one knows what to do with her. All her life, she's been shuttled from Guild to Guild, but every time her fate is discovered, she's immediately shoved out the door for fear of the bad luck she will bring.

With her twelfth birthday fast approaching, Lyra must be accepted by a Guild soon—or else she'll be sent to the Mists. A mysterious land beyond the empire's walls, no one alive knows what the Mists is really like, and Lyra is determined not to be the first.

Her only hope is the Guild of Scholars. To officially be accepted, she must retrieve the Guild’s magical crystal within their enchanted Library. The only problem? Ever since a devastating fire, no one has been able to enter the Library’s cursed halls, much less find the crystal.

Lyra may have an Extremely Unremarkable past, but she'll do whatever it takes to find a Guild—and a home—where she belongs.
