Description
The Impossible Dead by Ian Rankin brings Malcolm Fox and his team back into action, tasked with investigating whether fellow officers covered up misconduct by Detective Paul Carter. Although Carter has been found guilty, what seems like a straightforward job soon spirals into complexity with the occurrence of a brutal murder and the discovery of a weapon that should not even exist.
A trail of revelations guides Fox back to the tumultuous year of 1985, marked by desperate unrest. It was a time when letter-bombs and poisonous spores were sent to government offices, and kidnappings and murders were plotted.
