About the Author
Catherine Manchester, born in 1957, grew up in the coastal settlement of Eastbourne, near Wellington.
She gained a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Victoria University and a Diploma of Fine Arts from Otago Polytechnic. Soon after graduating, she won the Rita Angus art award at the age of thirty and has since painted and exhibited throughout New Zealand.
Sunshine Road developed from a handful of short stories written twenty years ago and is semiautobiographical.
Catherine now lives with her husband in Christchurch, close to their daughter and grandchildren.
