About the Author

Mirka Fries is a Ph.D. researcher in business and human rights at Friedrich Alexander UniversitΓ€t (FAU) Erlangen-NΓΌrnberg. Her work examines how law shapes inequality, focusing on intellectual property, trade law, and corporate accountability. Apart from her academic work, she has experience in strategic litigation. Drawing on feminist and decolonial theory, she explores law's potential for social and environmental justice. She teaches intellectual property (IP) law at Wageningen University and Research (WUR). Jakob Nehls is a doctoral researcher at Friedrich Alexander UniversitΓ€t (FAU) Erlangen-NΓΌrnberg. His research focuses on human rights indivisibility and its connections to business and human rights. He has worked on the link between climate crises and human rights, both practically and theoretically.
