“A clever, funny animal tale about acceptance and community.” —Kirkus

In this large-hearted picture book, a quirky family of platypuses set off for the beach but all does not go as planned. Can Mrs. Duck-billed Platypus save the day for herself, her children, and all of the other animals?

It’s a perfect day for the beach, and Mrs. Duck-billed Platypus, her seven children, and her egg set off for an outing by the sea! But one beach does not allow beaks. The next does not permit fur. On their journey, the platypuses meet many other animals in the same situation. They are turned away again and again, until Mrs. Duck-billed Platypus finds a unique solution.

A timeless tale that takes on issues of inclusion, perseverance, and friendship in a humorous and deeply relatable way, Private Beach: No Platypuses Allowed is the perfect addition to any beach bag or summer reading list.
