Pentecostalism's distinctiveness arises not only from its belief system but also from its worldview, which asserts that a religion lacking practical application holds little value. As such, Pentecostals seek life and vitality in their faith—prioritising these over intellectual expressions, although this is evolving.

The theology focuses on the present God, rather than one distant in the past. It views theology through the experiences of people, not solely through the lens of theologians. It values the community over traditions, although traditions do exist, and prioritises faith and worship over ancient creeds. This theology is dynamic and experiential in nature.

Unlike other theologies that primarily provide a list of beliefs, Pentecostal theology emphasises the importance of praxis. It not only outlines beliefs but also explores their practical application. Thus, in Pentecostal Theology, praxis is integral to the theological enquiry.
