About the Author

Beth Rogers (Introduction) is an instructor and PhD student at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik, Iceland. She also has an MA in Medieval Icelandic Studies and an M.Ed in secondary education. Beth has written more than 30 popular and academic articles, including 2 book chapters, on such varied topics as Viking dairy culture, salt in the Viking Age and medieval period, and the literary structure of Voelsunga saga. Her other research interests include medieval literature, military history, Old Norse mythology and folklore, and cultural memory. Beth has organized several workshops and conferences, including the 2019 NECRON (Network of Early Career Researchers of Old Norse) workshop in Bergen, Norway, and the Haskoli Islands Student Conference on the Medieval North. Jake Jackson has written, edited and contributed to over 20 books. Related works include studies of Babylonian creation myths, the philosophy to time and William Blake's use of mythology in his visionary literature.
