Ning and the Night Spirits is a beautifully illustrated story about a little boy named Ning who lives in a village once plagued by night spirits. Each evening, Ning helps his parents light bright orange lanterns to ward off these creatures. Curious yet shy, Ning wonders if the spirits are truly as frightening as the tales suggest. One night, he ventures into the forest and meets a mysterious creature who reveals the secret world of the spirits, showing Ning that things are not always as they seem. A beautifully illustrated tale that shows no matter how small you feel, your actions can help make big changes.

Ning and the Night Spirits tells the story of Ning, who has always heard tales of the night spirits that used to terrorise the little village where he lives. Each night, he helps his parents light bright orange lanterns to frighten them away. Secretly, he wonders if they’re really as bad as everyone says – but he is much too shy to ask anyone.

However, when Ning finds himself in the forest by night, he meets a creature who introduces him to the spirits’ secret world. He discovers that all is not as it seems.

A beautiful and magical story about confronting fears, confidence, and a little boy who finds his voice.
