Influenced by B-movie horror, classical painting, and pulp monster magazine iconography, Monsters tells the story of Karen as she tries to solve the murder of her enigmatic upstairs neighbour, Anka Silverberg, a Holocaust survivor. While the interconnected stories of those around her unfold, Karen struggles with the recent death of her mother while questioning her own sexuality and identity.
