Little Naturalists: Greta Thunberg Takes a Stand tells the story of how Greta Thunberg first heard about global warming when she was 8 years old, and how deeply troubled she was by it. At the age of 15, she initiated a school strike, leading protests both in her home country of Sweden and internationally. Her efforts soon saw her speaking to influential bodies such as the World Economic Forum, the British and European parliaments, and the United Nations Climate Action Summit and Conferences.
Throughout her journey, Greta has received many awards for her activism. She has an autism spectrum disorder, known as Asperger’s syndrome, which she regards as her superpower because it enables her to focus intensely on climate change. Her relentless work towards getting countries to decrease emissions has sparked a global movement, often referred to as the "Greta Effect."
Author Kate Coombs’ engaging narrative, complemented by Seth Lucas’ captivating art, provides young readers with an inspiring introduction to this remarkable conservationist.

Kate Coombs is an award-winning author of original fairy tales, poems, middle-grade fantasy novels, and picture books, including the critically acclaimed Water Sings Blue, which won the Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award for 2012, and many books in the bestselling BabyLit series. She lives in Bountiful, Utah.
Seth Lucas is an illustrator and designer with a BFA in graphic design. He is the cocreator of Ello There Outdoors selling prints and accessories supporting the National Parks and outdoors. He lives in Boise, ID, with his wife and daughter.
