A celebration of linocut's most influential practitioners as well as the schools and workshops around the world that have championed and developed the printing technique as an art form.

This beautifully illustrated book explores the origins of linocut and presents the pioneering figures who embraced and transformed the printmaking technique, from Claude Flight, Sybil Andrews, Edward Bawden and Cyril Power to modern and contemporary artists such as Leopoldo Méndez, Tayo Quaye and Grayson Perry, and many more.

Ella Ravilious is Curator: Architecture and Design at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. She is the granddaughter of artists Eric Ravilious and Tirzah Garwood, and author of Eric Ravilious: Landscapes & Nature, published by Thames & Hudson in association with the V&A. Gill Saunders is Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the V&A Research Institute, London. She is the author of several books, including Screenprints: A History, published by Thames & Hudson in association with the V&A.
