Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description
The very first book by number one bestseller Lee Child, Killing Floor introduces his iconic hero Jack Reacher. This thriller is now a major Prime TV series starring Alan Ritchson.

Killing Floor begins with Jack Reacher, a former military policeman, deciding to explore the serene town of Margrave, Georgia, purely on a whim. After hopping off a bus and walking fourteen miles, Reacher arrives in what seems like a peaceful American town. Little does he know, his arbitrary decision will soon plunge him into a whirlpool of danger and deception. With his imposing build and enigmatic presence, Reacher is immediately marked as an outsider. On the very day of his arrival, Margrave experiences its first murder in thirty years, and Reacher finds himself arrested as the prime suspect.

The local law enforcement, led by a seemingly corrupt police chief, quickly move to place Reacher at the scene of the crime. As Reacher delves deeper into the town's secrets, he discovers a tangled web of conspiracy, dirty secrets, and overwhelming corruption. As the plot thickens and the body count rises, it's clear that this small town holds big secrets. However, those responsible soon realise one crucial fact – they have chosen the wrong man to take the fall. With his military training and strategic intellect, Reacher embarks on a thrilling quest to uncover the truth and deliver justice in his own uncompromising way.

Praised for its lean, spare prose and explosive drama, Killing Floor delivers a gripping, fast-paced narrative that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. The Daily Express aptly describes it as showcasing "one of the most intriguing heroes of our times," marking Lee Child's gift for crafting intense and electrifying fiction.

Although the Jack Reacher novels can be read in any order, Killing Floor stands as the first book in this internationally popular series, introducing Reacher as the epitome of the tough, wandering ex-military cop who becomes a righter of wrongs and the perfect action hero.

The book that started it all

This is Lee Child’s first book, written after he lost his job as a TV producer. It was a big winner and the start of a series. Jack Reacher is a great character, a little flawed but you end up on his side. Once you start reading you won’t stop until the end.
