I Don't Know How to Love by Yu Machio tells the story of Aimi, who is widely popular, yet notorious for his trashy behaviour—a fact known by everyone, including himself. He is willing to date anyone, as long as there are no strings attached or commitments to just one person. However, he is currently dating Kaede, an underclassman who is incredibly convenient due to a lack of demands and unnecessary conversations.

Curiously, Kaede’s attitude remains unchanged even when he witnesses Aimi kissing a 'sex friend'. This reaction, or rather the lack of it, deeply unsettles Aimi, leading him to develop a possessive streak towards Kaede. Yet, despite these emerging feelings, Aimi finds that his emotions don't seem to reach Kaede at all.
