Prior to this, he was Chair Professor of Educational Psychology and Associate Vice President (Research and Development) and Co-Director of the Assessment Research Centre of the University. Professor McInerney continues research consultancies with a range of international universities and individuals.

Gregory Arief D. Liem is an Associate Professor at Psychology and Child & Human Development Academic Group, National Institute of Education, an institute of Nanyang Technological University. His research interest centers on understanding student motivation, engagement, and well-being through a sociocultural lens.
