In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi Sugimoto searches the wilderness of Hokkaido for a hoard of hidden gold. Lieutenant Tsurumi’s men begin their all-out assault on the Goryokaku Fortress under the cover of naval bombardment.
